Citizen Schools: Exposing Middle School Kids To Professional Opportunities
d2e: An Exploration Into Sustainable Living
ICON was pleased to lead an apprenticeship program in design and development for a group of Citizen Schools students in our office this fall. Architectural designers Erik Miller and Jenn van Kuren led the program one afternoon a week, helping students envision and design a network of pedestrian paths to connect Columbia Point to the larger city. Citizens Schools is a local non-profit that organizes after-school enrichment programs for middle school students. This semester, ICON and the students are designing a community center on Boston Common.
