- Massachusetts Maritime Academy American Bureau of Shipping Information Commons
- Buzzards Bay, MA
-
The Information Commons' programming and design meets the unique needs and requirements of the Academy’s cadets and the campus’s challenging physical environment. The first floor provides a wide variety of program spaces including: a flexible library study environment, group study rooms, a 50-seat lecture hall, and a reading room mezzanine. The second floor Academic Resource Center provides a range of academic support services. It also houses a 50’ diameter ship’s bridge simulator with a nearly 360 degree projection surface.
The campus is located in a flood zone, requiring that the building be elevated four feet above grade and that all the mechanical equipment be located at the top of the building.
