Empresa completes the multi-acre, transit-oriented Centre and Main redevelopment in downtown Brockton. The project transformed an underutilized city block into a mixed-use complex with residential, retail, and commercial space, along with a municipal garage, all within steps of the commuter rail station.
This third phase finalized the block with a new parking garage and Empresa, a 111-unit residential building. The architecture draws from the surrounding historic context, using masonry expression and proportional rhythms to reinforce the urban streetscape. The building defines and frames a central courtyard, where a shifted geometry introduces multi-level landscaping and a series of outdoor gathering spaces.
Amenity and residential program areas in all three residential buildings overlook the courtyard, establishing visual connection and a shared identity across the development. The result is a cohesive urban composition that balances density, a mix of uses, and landscaped open space in the heart of downtown.
