ICON led the team that stitched together interventions of repair and reprogramming to this twelve-story, 1970’s era, 132-unit, senior housing high-rise.
As a result of detailed planning, evaluation and collaboration amongst all stakeholders, rehabbed and refreshed units coupled with newly redeveloped amenity spaces, support an existing older population to age-in-place. MPDC’s vision for Smith House strengthens the overall Madison Park community, promoting continued synergy amongst each of its properties enhancing a vibrant neighborhood within Boston while preserving its existing social and physical assets. A newly added front entry lobby and rear activity space, dressed with new landscape and streetscape elements present a revitalized address in the village. A renewed Smith House has evolved in Roxbury.
