Learning Spaces

This project modernized classrooms across Tufts University’s Medford campus to better support contemporary teaching methods and technologies.

The planning effort encompassed 17 classrooms in eight buildings, ranging from small seminar rooms to large lecture halls, totaling approximately 12,600 SF. The design framework addressed flexibility, technology integration, lighting, finishes, and furniture to support active learning and multiple pedagogical formats. Proposed upgrades included projection systems, flat screens, annotation monitors, document cameras, and specialized AV systems.

Following the planning phase, Tufts University advanced seven classrooms for renovation, including the Sophia Gordon Multipurpose Room, seminar and study spaces in Cabot Hall, a design studio in Anderson Hall, and a lecture hall in the Science and Technology Center.
