Public Safety Training Center Study NORTHERN ESSEX COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The Northern Essex Community College Regional Public Safety Training Center is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the City of Lawrence, Northern Essex Community College (NECC), and the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) designed to provide efficient, high quality public safety training to meet the workforce needs of northeast Massachusetts and other participating regions and organizations. Additionally, the City of Lawrence proposes to build a new police headquarters near its current Lowell Street location, in a modern facility-sharing space with the Regional Public Safety Center. Because of the synergies created by this partnership, the new Lawrence Regional Public Safety Center and Police Headquarters makes more efficient use of state and local taxpayer dollars to address public safety training and education needs, and to provide modern public safety services.
