This series of projects upgrades classrooms within Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences to support active learning and contemporary teaching methods.
Over multiple phases, ICON converted traditional tablet-armchair classrooms into flexible lecture and collaborative learning environments. Completed work includes renovation of an 80-seat auditorium and a 65-seat double-tier lecture hall with dual projection, followed by six flexible seminar rooms. A subsequent phase is upgrading twenty additional classrooms. All projects were delivered as summer construction efforts to minimize disruption to the academic calendar.
The designs integrate updated AV/IT systems, flexible furniture, and improved lighting and finishes to foster student engagement and adaptability across disciplines.
